Exclamation Check Engine Light with Injen CAI

I just installed an Injen CAI and the check engine light is on. Also, the cruise control light is blinking on and off.

Can anyone help?

Just disconnect the battery and step on the brakes a few times. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect. And your problem should be solved.

I tried that but it didn't fix it. Thanks for the response though!

The check engine light is still on and the cruise control light is still blinking on and off. The cruise control does not work anymore either.

It's running at like 200 rpm at idle when I start it, but then goes back up to 500 when i start driving.

Is there anything wrong with leaving it in there or will it cause problems?

You car is running in safe mode, thats why the check engine is on and cruise control

did you plug everything back in properly after installing the CAI? Check all wires, lines, and bolts

nic3krnnamja83, Is there any way I can take it off safe mode without clearing any codes?

VRT MBasile, I did double check after I took it for a test run and I think i got everything.

sticruisin06, I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but what's an AP and where did you get your tune?

I just drove from Brentwood to San Jose and my gas mileage is way worse than stock. Is that the computer compensating for more air now?

i have an Injen CAI on my 99RS. no issues whatsoever.

are you sure your intake was for your specific year? the main thing i can think of is if a vacuum line isnt connected to the intake correctly.

It's infrequent and not a big deal. Cruise is blinking telling you it is not functioning until it is reset. That is all.

most cars will trip a CEL if they do not have a tune. You should get a tune on that car of yours
