BORLA SS Headers on MY00 2.5RS
has anybody put these headers on this car and had any problems? i.e.: fitment problems, CEL, etc.
i'm considering getting them, but i've been hearing a lot of mixed reviews including bad welds and fitment issues...
let me know what you guys think...

There is a lot of bad aura around the borla headers. I attribute it to the sub-par quality of the original models and the noise that those with problems make. Well Borla has made several revisions over the years and personally I have had no issues with mine. Second, I dont understand those who make lots of noise over the rare problem because from what I hear Borla handles warranty claims magnificently.

I had problems. They were fine about replacing them but the process was still a bit of a hassle. They cracked welds in 2 seperate places. I also had 2 seperate shops tell me that the header sprung off like it had fittment issues and was under stress since it was not a good fit. I haven't had any problems with my latest set but i'm still waiting to be sure that all woes are gone.
The performance gains are such that I would not reconsider them because of the issues. They are A-OK

I have the Borlas on my RS. Basically, I think they are worth the $264 shipped you can get them for now. They improve the exhaust note, but I don't think they do a whole lot for performance, except for one thing- they really smooth out abrupt throttle transitions. When you lift the throttle, you very smoothly transition to compression braking, unlike the stocks which cause the drivetrain to snap against it. Makes it easier to modulate when cornering, not to mention looking like a better driver to your passengers.

before you put them on measure the holes in the middle because they should be about 17 inches to fit right but if it is off by more than about a sixteenth you are going to have to force it
i feel unlucky because when i talked to dale at teagues he said he hasnt heard any complaints yet except me

Now I just have to make sure they'll fit an 04RS.
