borla header and OEM oil cooler
well i have a 95 L 1.8 and i plan on geting a borla header and subaru liquid to oil cooler but i looked at pictures of them installed and they look to be in the way of each other
the reason i want to get a oil cooler is because i drive very very hard (think 4K-6K in third for a quarter mile at a time or more because this little 1.8 arrg) and the last time time i changed oil the frition material on the bottom of my fram sureguard oil filt must have been heated enough that it got hard and bubbled that flaked off when touched
i know someone on this board uses a turbo kit and the oem oiler cooler with the borlas and i want to know if it fit as is or if cutting and welding are order

I used a normal oilcooler with a core mounted up by the radiator. Yours will just use coolant to try and cool it. Ask one of the guys over at scoobymods to see if they are using the generic Subaru cooler and a Borla. I never saw the point of using hot coolant to try and cold hot oil.

i got to thinking about this and the coolant coming from the radi is about 150 to 170 degrees(hand on bottom hose) and liquid to liquid has better heat transfer than liquid to air but a really big core whould do a much better job than the oem but then were do you put it? in front of the radi or take the fender off and sit it there
i'll ask at scoobymods exactly how they have theres
but thanks alot for the input

all EJ engines with dual exhaust ports fit borla
so that means it fits all 2.5, 1.8 and some 2.2(all til 97)
just look for ones that fit the 2.5
to get you started
http://www.rallitek.com/ (cheapest i think)
