Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

auto tranny question

Question auto tranny question

so ive been looking around the net and every LSD i come across is only for a 6 or 5 speed tranny.

so my question is are there any after market LSD's that mate with an auto 4speed?

I doubt it. the final drive ratio for 4EATs is 4.44 I believe while the 5MTs are 3.9 and theres just not enough demand to produce aftermarket diffs for us autos. You'll just have to give in to the dark side and do a 4EAT/MT swap

hahahah what a bummer, i have already gone 2 the "dark side" tho it was just a former thought i had been wondering about wen i had my auto


so dose this mean the only alternative is 2 use an auto WRX rear diff assembly and LSD 2 b able 2 use an LSD on the car at all?

Im talking 1989-94 turbo legacy, and hes talking about the REAR END

soooo id have 2 get a rear diff from a 1989-94 turbo legacy or it wont fit at all? im confused....

on a differnt note i found out the out back has a rear LSD and its NA 4eat would an 05 or 06 outback nonturbo rear diff fit ? or is it only aplicable 2 the NA legacy and not the 2.5i imprezza

it all depends on the gear ratio, find out what your final drive ratio is in the rear end, and get one that is the same, otherwise bad things WILL happen
