ok here is the challenge, My friend has a brand spankin new 350z is is it possible to get a rs to a 0-60 time of around 5.2 seconds? or beat it in the 1/4? what mods would you guys suggest? or should i just go the turbo route?

 

if he's got a z then i would have to say sabotage would have to be the easiest and cheapest route

you have a RS. it isnt in the same class as a Z. If you turbo it, you might keep up. but really kids, apples and oranges.

 

I also drive a 98 RS.....well.....you see...its all about power and speed and money.... a great mechanic once said, "speed costs money, how fast do you wana go ?" If i where you....to make your car the fastest possible for cheap , I think it was HKS headers back exaust...is around 600 dollars = about 16 HP.....get a bell mouth adapter (replaces airbox)and get the apexi air/fuel controler. rip out your grill on your hood over the new cone airfilter setup and get a ram air adapter.....now your gettin ALOT more air flow then stock you should be up to around 290HP . Now buy a good set of pulleys, (NOT underdrive) choose the right engine managment system for your driving....purchase cams from cobb( + 19hp @ redline, under 500 bucks !)....Now you should be able to spank an S200 , WRX , etc etc....BUT we're not done yet. last but not least....nitrous. I have talked to many a person about tubro vs nitrous in your "gc8" if you dont care about going fast ALL THE TIME....then why buy a turbo ? A good 75 shot would be perfect =) Now at the press of a button you have a 12 second car....hope that helps =).,.......PS its ALOT more complicated then you would ever imagine....im just throwing ideas @ you....there are LOTS of different choices to be made with your impreza, every person is different and so are tuning companies....good luck !


o yea....your Impreza is not meant for that much power and will DIE quicker and quicker the more stress you put on it.

 

ok i just checked and the 0-60 times posted for the z are in the 5.4 second range...i remember seeing a 5.2 in some mag last yr but if we stick to that and the 1/4 mile time of 13.95. I know they are great cars but they aren't as invincible as they might seem...a well driven wrx could prolly beat a z once in a while.
