'98, '99 or '00 2.5 rs
Hey, I can't decide. I know they are very similar cars, the '98 is the cheapest, which is a big positive. The '00 comes in a sedan, which is also nice. I know the '98 is DOHC, while the other 2 are SOHC.
I know this is something I should do on my own, I have done some research, but what do you all suggest?
Thanks

'98 has some head gasket problems and has a slightly lower hp and torque than 99-00
'00 has map instead or maf
hmm... dont really know what to say, but are you be going to modify the car or just keep it stock?
In my opionion, i would say go for the '00 because i have it too

If you are planning on putting a CAI, i suggest going with th 00 with a MAP. MAF's don't like CAI's for some reason and you will get a CEL. Just some of the problem we have experience up here in Montreal.

I would definately say go with the 'oo. It is probably the best car you can buy for the money. It has great acceleration and handling abilities. It is real easy to modify too.

I think more important than year is get the best one you can. Look for low miles, unmodded and reliable. The differences between years are mostly inconsequential but a solid car and not getting a lemon is the biggest issue.

You can add an intake to a MY99 as long as you have some sort of fuel computer like a APEX-i S-AFC and an A/F guage to richen any lean spots as a result of the CAI. About the MAF blowing… if it isn't tightly secure and it bounces all over the place then… of course it is going to go.
Check for mileage and good working parts.
