98 2.5 RS headgasket Q.
I recently bought a 98 2.5 rs in June of 03. I was just wondering at about how many miles do the headgaskets start to go bad? And why do they go bad anyway? Thanks everybody

Run a coolant pressure test. You will notice that the coolant overflow bottle will fillup from system and oil can also appear in the overflow bottle. 3 layer headgasket problem is a known design defect. It was solved by a 4 layer design that solves the problem. File a case number with Subaru of America and take to a dealer to confirm and replace under known defect warranty.

Thanks for replying. Is there a way to know that my car hat it replaced? Because since I got it used, I don't know if the warranty was done to my car to fix the gasket. Thanks.
