My friend mentioned it to me. Odd thing though, he said he was told this by Mike Shields @ spdusa.com. However when I asked Mike he said that reolacing the ECU woeud be a waste of money. Personally I think my friend was talking out of his ***. On the other hand there must be a replacement ECU that will up performance and hp.

A setup like the TECIII would be good for some hp with no other mods, but I don't know if it's worth the cost really. With good intake/exhaust and cams with PEMS or stand-alone you could theoretically get to ~220 hp with no other mods, but that's pushing it. Plus, you'd be spending as much as a basic 5-6 psi turbo setup costs, and that's closer to 250 hp with a great powerband and no lag.

Intake. The best bang for the buck with more butt dyno improvement. Sounds good too. If you haven't done it already, take out the intake silencer tubing. Thats free and will already feel a difference. Get a K&N panel filter next fore even better improvement. That's about $60. Or spend 150-200 bucks for a CAI. This can never be bad(unless you get a WeaponR).

Don't bother with intake, it doesn't do much other than make noise. Get good headers and/or exhaust. Still not gonna make huge gains, but it's about all you can do without cams. Talk to Mike Shields again, he'll explain it all to you.
