Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Lightbulb 2007 2.5i to an H6 engine

Currently my car is an Auto transmission with a 2.5i. I've seen potentials of an H6 with twin turbskies, but im planning to do an H6 EZ30 Natural Aspirated. Currently pulling about 170s HP, and a stock H6 pulls about 285s HP. Along with an engine swap, planning to convert to manual trans. Required trans, clutch, clutch pedal assemble, master cylinder. Seen the H6 swap been done before. Is there anything else im missing? I know it'll cost a lot.

If i had bought a wrx, i wouldve gone the wild path and have a fully built engine for 7k + sti trans for another 2-3k. thats nearly 10k. The path im going, I feel like it'll be less than 10k. As i saw an EZ30 for $1500

The wiring nightmare and potential fabrication work needed would be deterrents for me. iWire might be your savior here, but given the juice hardly seems worth the squeeze.

Tons of work, potential mistakes, sh*t ton of work to make it happen, but thats what friends connections and shops are for

Been missing out on the fun with manual tho :c

Seems you could save a fair amount of aggravation by just buying a manual?

Yeah i could save time by buying a manual, but i already got about 3000 into cosmetics on my current subi. It's already a hawkeye with obsidian black pearl color. Also to add on, knowing i bought it from a female driven automatic, the car isnt as beaten up or pushed as hard as a manual would be. so the suspension is still in a fair/good condition than going out to buy a manual that has a higher chance of being pushed and beaten

This chassis wasn't setup for a H6, so it will end up a little nose heavy and also will require a bit more suspension tuning as a result. Can it be done? Sure, but when you could just start with a car that doesn't require massive amounts of work to convert, you're already ahead of the game and the funds go toward what matters, not the conversion.

True. Didn't think about that. But Im in the process of researching for donor cars, whether it be a STI or an outback. H6 requires tons of work, so does an STI Engine Ej. But from what i hear, the STI swap is an easier path to go on, as many shops and individuals have done it themselves.

Eventually after like many many months of not succeeding, ill prob just go the other route to buy another subaru, but i rather go the hard way and have fun while i still have the hawkeye
