2.5RS (2004) vs WRX (2004) EXHAUST ONLY
What are differences in exhaust from the wrx, to the rs. Is there any difference in sound? If a 2.5RS has the same aftermarket 3" exhaust as a WRX will it sound louder becuase it does not have a turbo, and has a larger engine?

First of all, 3" exhaust on a N/A car is not recommended. 2.25" is fine. The sound loudness and quality is different by manufacturer moreso than just the engine (N/A or turbo) I think that generally speaking, WRX and 2.5RS/TS/OBS cat backs are real close in dimensions. Correct me if I'm misspoken. Anyway, maybe other people can chime in about the 3" exhaust on a N/A engine. Brian

Simple. Get the Apexi N1 catback. It has 2.5" piping and sounds like all the other exhausts out there for the wrx.

Sorry to sound ignorant as I just purchased my first subie a week ago, but is the 02+ wrx exhaust a direct bolt on to the 03+ 2.5 rs sedan? I figure the hangers should work with wrx rubber, but does the cat match up to the midpipe without leaks? to be more specific, I have an 04 rs, and am looking to purchase the wrx N1 exhaust. thanks in advance.
