Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

2.5i on E85?

Hey guys, the increase in gas prices sucks so I was thinking about saving up and getting CBE, Intake, Straight pipe, any bolt ons for the 2.5i and then getting tuned for E85. I want to know if it is possible? I know its a little cheaper than unleaded right? and it increases power. Has anyone done this or attempted to run E85 in a 2.5i?

You will see minimal gains and have to fill up twice as much

Has anyone actually kept their foot out of it for an entire tank with e85 to see what their best case scenerio for fuel mileage is? Curious to see how much worse it is.

Geez, I can't get anywhere near that on 91, but my car rarely sees the hiway and I have a pretty heavy foot. I remember you posting that you can get 24mpg if you drive fairly conservative.

Do you commute or just stay out of boost? I sure most of it is my driving habits, but I usually am filling up by 200 miles, sometimes even less.

Ya, I can still pull it but it's really hard to do that with the whiter wheels/tires and a roof rack on my car all winter. With the cark on I get like 240-260 before the light comes on and that all freeway driving. City I get like 220 miles. When I'm on my ssr's and no rack i get 280-320 each fill up!

From what I understand is that the compression on the NA engine is too low to run e85 and see any real gains.

Thats what I though, I never knew it burned faster. I just know that it is cheaper. I was just wondering and couldn't find anything on it. Thanks guys! I'll just stick to the CBE, and a hybrid intake.

yeah, not to mention you'll be spending more money on E85 since you'll be burning a lot more.

I get about 180 miles out of a tank. Could probably get 200 but I never let my tank get that low before I fill up since theres only one station by me.

Hell no Matt I always get about 180 miles per tank. Can't stay off boost
I would probably get 200 if I wasnt so boost happy.

On pump I'd get on average 240 but that was on the stock injectors on 850's I don't know what I'd get maybe 200-210??
