Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Your really not going to make it much faster than it is, im a suspension/handling junky so..

Personally I would start with good tires, then a rear sway bar, fr and rr endlinks, then maybe some sort of suspension, weather it be just springs to start, or a spring strut combo. Then I would throw in an intake and exhaust somewhere in between all of that.

It all depends on your budget and what you plan to do with the car.

Are you going to auto cross it? daily driver only? etc etc.

I disagree with saying you cant get much more power out of the Impreza,no disrespect, but you can make the car alot faster.
For sound and some power, start with an exhaust an intake.
If you get the right set up it will sound great. That all depends on what you like, there are plenty of posts with opinions to help you out. For more power there is plenty you can do depending on your cash flow.

200 hp is easy. Cobb Intake, MRT header+cat, your favorite catback gets you in the ballpark. beyond that, it gets real pricy. Suspension is a much better outlook. You can make an RS the handling equal of any car out there, STi included.

Forgive me, that's usually the shipped price of the catless version. However, you could get a cat added to the custom midpipe you'd want to go with it for less than $150 more.
