Car Info: 2006 STI CGM
I Just Put 6000 Miles Onto My '06 Sti. Im Want To Do Some Mods Very Soon. I Need Help In The Right Direction....what Do I Do First? What Do I Need To Do? What Should I Keep? What Brands Should I Buy? Please Hook Me Up With Some Advice..
Best advice I can offer is the information you consume and register with your own eyes and brain...
Read Around... drop into some different sections of the forum... go into the STI specific engine forum, read up on what people are going through, doing, having issues with, bragging about, etc... Jump into suspension, read a little there
Prioritize your goals... what do you want? Auto X? Drag Race? Daily Driver? There are tons of variables that you need to narrow down from and pinpoint the direction you want to take your car (other than just forward
)
There are tons of routes, one of the most proven are going with some sort of reliable engine management system... a reflash such as Cobb... etc... along with upgrading the turboback system... Lots of Stage II STIs around... gather up the info you want...
Once you know what you want, or at least have a direction, then when you post asking a question it willbe more direct and less vague, and you will yield better results!
Also, for ideas, check out the Reviews section.. where people are used certain mods and have left reviews on them, VERY USEFUL tool.. also the search function is very helpful...
Discover your needs... write out a plan with your goals and intentions keeping your priorities numbered... find out WHAT you need to reach those goals...(or ask here on this board, once you determine the goals)... then do some product research, narrow down to the brands you want... and start modding
Research is the most important part... And I need to emphasize this.. far too many people end up learning from their own mistakes... Why make a mistake when someone has already made it for you and has informed you to be aware?
get my drift?
Best of Luck!
