This setup is good and pretty cheap

Helix high-flow catted DP (or catless if you prefer)

Borla HR-1 catback

My favorite setup below is just way too overpriced ($1750):

Vishnu Signature Series TBE (Catted or not)

Yes, but the sig series will not fit the STI.

Helix catless DP + HKS Carbon Ti is loud and nice sounding.

good combo. if its going into an STi you might have to port the waste gate so you don't get boost spike. this is common when instaling a turbo-back on an STi.

So if anyone can give me some more info that would be great thx.
Honestly, with the majority of name brand 3" straight-through catbacks there is going to be very little difference in power and it will come down to prefference of looks/sound/manufacturer. Take your pic
As for down pipes, I would have to agree there is no better DP for the money than the Helix ones, and arguable exclusive of price as well. I personaly would stick with a bellmouth design, the twin outlet design likes Vishnus theoreticaly seems the more logical design until you actually see the way the DP mounts to the turbo, theres just no way the wastegaste gasses will all go straight into its seperate pipe, what happens instead is you make a large reversion chamber in the area between the DP and turbo. Also the Vishnu uses a ceramic substrate style cat which is old tech compared to the higher flowing metalic substrate cats found in the Helix, cob, random, and others.

all cat backs work, its just a couple of the down pipes dont fit on the STI, never heard of "kakimoto" (makes me giggle)

I never really got in to turbos, so any info about the car and anything i should be warned about now would be great. yes i am a noob. To u guys like highflow cats better or catless...... period.

I would never recommend running catless since its socially irresponsible, especially nowadays with the availability of hi-flow metal substrate cats the difference in power is less than ever. And also I dont know where you live but its BIG trouble if you get caught here in Cali without one!

Same boat as egan. He is correct. I also had to sell when I got my STI.

Kakimoto: I remember an issue of Turbo performance that rated this set up with the highest hp and tq gains. Where did you get it? It is ultra lightweight albeit a little loud.
