i looked up the metal you mentioned and WOW... looks good and I'm thinking its lighter than titanium?

My world is motorcycles so I found this... silencer is ti/ inconel with header full inconel... NICE! i likes...
titanium would be better. it is stronger and lighter, but it is also MUCH more expensive.

yeah, i thought it would be. Price wise though, yeah i'm very familiar, my GSXR has a $1200.00 exhaust set up. (not the one from pic)
mine is full ti...
But still I'm not knocking the quality and craftsmanship. That s**t looks BOMB!!

while titanium is strong and light, inconel is also strong which allows you to use a thinner wall comparable to stainless. But the main reason to use inconel is its extreme durability and resistance to heat and thats why you find inconel not titanium in f1 and all the top racing formulas, especially when used in a turbo charged application when there is high egts.

On stock turbo cars (primarily 2.5l motors) how much more lag do you think you will get with these, if any?

I know Perrin claims their ELH actually increases response due to the diameter piping they use, and it being "truely" equal length but we have actually yet to try a set out. I'm not very interested in maximum power output but ultimate response.

i dont think you'll experience any increased lag. But we'll see this week how they perform. They do have small primaries just like how the perrin are set up. But the main idea behind these is to keep the exhaust pulses seperate so you can take advantage of the scavenging effects. I dont know how to word this, but not putting pressure on other cylinders via exhaust pules, which would reduce the efficieny of cylinders ability to remove the spent exhast from the cylinder.

My understanding of exhaust systems, turbocharging is still growing and have a lot to learn still though. But that above info should be correct in some way or another.

I gotcha, I also understand the affects of scavenging due to the equal exhaust pulses.

It just seems that there's always a bit of trade off, the increased flow seems to usually equal reduced exhaust velocity due to the larger size diameter of the piping, (larger diameter equal more space for the exhaust gas to fill before moving along).

But I also understands all the gains to be experienced when running with a higher displacement turbo, as well as the fact a lot of the response issue with a ELH header seem to be able to be dialed out with some tuning.

Are you guys planning on coating these (that seems to really help combat lost exhaust inertia by keeping the heat in the pipe). And I guess if all esle theres always ALS hahaha....
