STi tmic vs aftermarket tmic

Ok, so I have a 2007 WRX with a vf48 and an sti tmic. I'm going in to get tuned in a couple weeks.

I was wondering if my sti tmic will be well sufficient for my setup or would a larger aftermarket bar/plate tmic be more optimal? Would spending the money on an aftermarket tmic even be worthwhile? What kind of gains in power and efficiency could I expect from an aftermarket tmic over the sti one? if any that are worth it?

TIA

Dan stick with the STi tmic. will be well suficient enough for your setup man. you will have more fitment issues if you go with a ebay tmic or somethin like that. just stick with your sti one IMO.

btw... when you get tuned..spend the extra money on getting boost leak and pressure tested before your tune. well worth it.

cornfed is correct, the sti tmic is fine for your setup, when you go bigger in the future get a bigger tmic or fmic

Thanks for the tip. I was considering the Perrin or Spearco, but would much rather just keep the sti one....it's cheaper that way.

I'll ask them about getting the test done.
