So far only the standard exhaust, which uses a bellmouth downpipe, fits on the STi as the Signature divorced wastegate tube doesn't clear the gearbox.
I would guess that Vishnu's exhaust would behave the same if no cat?

The exhaust is indeed catted. I get slight boost spiking when it's cold outside up to 19-20 psi at WOT (although it only did it the first few days, so the ECU may have adjusted now). The car is flashed to run at 17-18 psi. Other than that, it's nothing but smiles.

Nothing Better
I own a Vishnu stage one, but only have the TB on it right now untill i get the plug n play. I am next in line for the plug n play, so soon good times. As of now the TB is the **** and it works wonders on low end and smoothing out the power. I have the stage 2 but cant install untill I get the FU*#ING plug n play. i would sugest nothing else. I have a 04 sti and had the TB since jan. 04

IIRC, you got your car early, so it has the smaller housing right? In your case, you would need the wastegate ported to run catless.
I have an '05 STi with a Vishnu TBE with custom test pipe (yay catless). I have no boost creep at all, and in fact can't make enough boost in the midrange (maxes out at ~16psi). This is with the xede.
Is the p17 or p18 designation stamped somewhere visable with the turbo still on the car?

Im not new to the scene, but Ive taken a year off so to say. I have a question, but there's a good chance that its been disected over and over already and I just havn't read about it yet... sorry
I current own a 2003 WRX and have a cobb stage 2 w/ vishnu turboback setup. Question is, how much different is a turboback setup for an STi? Reason I ask is that Ill be purchasing either an older 04 STi or a new 05 shorlty, and Im wondering if it would be worth my time to strip the turboback and have the ecu flashed back to factory before selling/trading my WRX.
Thanks ladies/fellas....

The signature exhaust was modified last month to fit with both the STi and the WRX. We just had to rotate the cat and move the wastegate bypass tube a bit

Thanks for the replies! I do have the signature series turbo back, purchased about year and a half ago. Considering that revisions were made recently, is it possible to use the old system with the replacement of a few pieces? In otherwords, is it possible for me to purchase a new down pipe/cat/intermediate and use the preexisting muffler portion or something to that effect?
All things considered, it probably does not really matter anyway, cause Ill likely sell the vehicle as is, but chances are I will never get what I want for it.
Thanks for the helf!
