sti shortblock on 06 wrx

I have a question if i have an 06 wrx, say if i were to put in an sti shortblock from on 06 sti how would this benifit; if at all any benifits.

i think everything else is the same except for the piston and compression. i cant comfirm.

Check your source on that info mate.

The 06 WRX uses the new EJ255 block not the EJ257 block in the STI. Pistons are different as well.

Blarg. First I've heard of it, thanks Mike. What are the specific differences? Any guesses as to how much power the 255 will hold?

Highest HP I have personally taken one too is 340whp on our dyno, I'll be honest I am not sure where the limit is on them however I can say that they run a lot less timing with the bump in compression and such.

I just ordered one of the pistons so I could take a look at it against a STI here so I should get an idea of the piston differences by the end of the week.
