Cool SPT intake, how much power?

Does anyone know how much power after installing the spt intake? I heard it's pretty good because it's made by subaru.

Not very much, maybe 5hp at most. Our cars take in enough air as is but expelling hot gases is where they need help. ( I.E. downpipe, up-pipe, headers, catback) Any of those mods will give a better gain ( maybe not Catback) over an intake

If you have/getting a tune then it's a different story.

According to an article in Subaru's Drive Performance magazine (www.driveperformancesubaru.com) the SPT intake, SPT intake heat shield, and SPT catback exhaust were worth up to 30 hp and 20 ft lbs of torque at the wheels on an Impreza STi. They claim that power was increased throughout the usable rpm range if the entire kit is installed, even with no additional tuning. You'll have to extrapolate what that would be worth on an '06 WRX or a Legacy GT with the smaller turbo.

I don't know if an independent tuning shop has verified these claims on a dyno.

I'm thinking that you could probably deviate from the parts list with an aftermarket high-flow catback but I would be sure to use the heat shield in conjunction with the SPT intake.

those numbers are absurd. Do a search here, on ISWTI.com or NASIOC.com for the intake and some REAL results.

Dont believe everything that manufacturer propaganda tells you.

I installed mine this past week along with the heat shield. I can't honestly say I noticed a power increase but the turbo whoosh sounds awesome. Its a nice clean intake setup that looks great in the engine bay. I would buy it again. I have the Bosal CBE coming this next week. It'll be on by the weekend.

I got my SPT intake for my 06 Sti. Just telling you the sound is great and power? it wont help you on power at the stock turbo level but helps turbo spool up WAAYY faster!

any dyno graphs, manifold pressure plots, or other comparative info to prove this claim?
