Seeking a quiet TBE...
I've been surfing this site for a while, trying to get an idea for what kind of DP + Catback will give me the best performance while still sounding like the stock exhaust. I'm not looking for noise, but definitely looking for some additional torque on my 05 STi. I'd appreciate everybody's opinions.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Funny, you asked for a TBE and no one has actually mentioned one yet...
Catback + downpipe is NOT a TBE; that leaves the stock midpipe and cat.
If you want a quiet TBE, there is a Borla TBE (which is tough to find) or the APS turboback, which is extremely quiet and stock-looking when bought in the 3" dual-tip configuration. If you want quiet, I suggest that you add a high-flow cat to the exhaust, which greatly quiets the sound.

Actually that is incorrect. I have the Invidia dowpipe that connects directly to the Greddy EVO 2 catback. So it is infact a true TBE. The stock midpipe and cat are replaced by the combination of the downpipe and catback.

+1 Yup, im running a Helix DP with an HKS TI Carbon CBE and it has no mid pipe. 90% of DP+CBE will make it a TBE. Some companies just offer a complete package for quality and performance.

Yeah man, let me know! I'm not interested in scaring the birds out of the trees as I drive by, not to mention needing to turn up my stereo, attracting cops etc. I just want a free-flowing exhaust w/o the noise!
