Question Removal of the Silencer???

im sure this is posted somewhere around here but i cant find it, so im askin it again

can anyone give me good directions on how to remove the silencer or photos of this being done.

good photos on how to do this.

I'm guessing you think he's talking about the resonator in the exhaust. The intake silencer removal doesn't increase noise very much at all.

i agree...you can clearly hear an increase in sound turbo spool,wastegate flutter,stock bypass valve, sucking noise.....but still no performance.

yo STi 05 did you do this mod yet??

do it if you got the time. i personally like the sounds that this mod lets you hear. but thats just me....try it and if you dont like it then just put it back in like Silver arrow did.

It wouldnt hurt to try but like silver arrow said dont expect any extra power. I didnt notice much of an increase in noise or any performance gain on my 02 WRX.

well i know it wont increase power, i just want to be able to hear the turbo a little more, rather then putting in a bov

If you have a DP that is not cast iron at the turbo outlet it will increase the sound of the turbo quite a bit. Like you I dont care for excessive noise and my TXS DP is a little loud for my taste. I'm thinking of wrapping it to get rid of some of the noise.
