QTP Electronic Cutout Downpipe

I have a completly stock 2005 STI and am considering how to modify it. I was considering a Cobb Stage 2 setup with Cobb's turbo back exhaust and Accessport. Recently I have come across QTP's electronic cutout exhaust and am having second thoughts.

They seem to make a decent product and after hearing the sound clips, it sounds awesome to have that kind of control with just the flip of a switch. My questions are would running a setup like this be reliable without any sort of tuning? Reliability of the car comes first and I don't want something on it that will cause more problems than good. It's my daily driver so I need it to last. I live in a quiet neighborhood and don't want everyone to hear when I'm coming home. There's a kid up the street from me with an old honda and has an exhaust that sounds like a lawnmower. I'm not trying to be the same as this kid.

If someone can give me some insight on if this Electronic Exhaust is safe to use on a daily driver I'd appreciate it. Thanks, hope someone can help me out here.

i have a ecs on my car and no problems.
im not tuned for it so i usualy drive with it closed but its fun to open it on people some times, and it sounds awesome!
im not sure about the QTP, but i have one from black trax performance and am very happy.
you should probally get tuned for it. im going to have 2 maps once i get my 20g, a street map for closed ecs and 91 octane and a race map for 100 octane and open ecs!

do you still have the stock cat-back? or are you using an aftermarket catback also?

when the cutout is closed how loud is the exhaust compared to stock? Do you smell exhaust fumes or anything?

when the cutout is closed it just sounds normal at least for a borola hush. when open it screams with a loud rumble and you can hear the turbo spool. when sitting at a light for a while you can start to smell the exhaust if your windows are open other than that no problem
