PTP Turbo Blankets for Subarus

http://www.ptpturboblankets.com/subaru.shtml

Has anyone used or using one of these turbo blankets? They make them to fit factory Subaru turbos. With me planning to get tuned on E85 with my stock VF-39 this would seem like a good idea to keep the under hood temps down. I think just to even keep temps down this would perform alot better than any metal heat sheild.

What do you guys/gals think?

The argument against turbo wraps/blankets that I have heard several times is that they gather condensation when they cool, and then hold that against the turbo and can cause rust and corrosion. A metal heat shield will also get condensation if you live in a place with high humidity or dewpoint, but it isn't in direct contact with the turbo and evaporates. One example of this is if you wrap chromed pipes (say, on motorcycle headers or exhaust) the chrome will degrade within just a few months, as I've seen with several friends who race sport bikes.

Then again, it would probably take years for that surface corrosion to cause an actual failure, considering how thick the turbo walls are - perhaps decades.

Summit racing sells a thermotec turbo wrap for under $30 IIRC.
