well if you are down (time and money) and know its going to be a project then i say wow go for it
i dont know much on how it differs from the regular ICE. but pretty much you can be sure you wont get much help here i hate to say you will be on your own.

I have only seen PROPANE used on turbo deisel's, particularly with the trend in performance deisel pickups. There was an episode on TRUCKS on Spike TV where they installed a setup. You could research that, however I think something with the properties of deisel fuel allows the use of propane, don't know if it will work on gasoline vehicles.
These guys mounted a HUGE, (bbq grill size) propane tank under the truck, I don't see somehting like that working on our cars.

Just my 2 cents. I drove a 1966 toyota stout(dont know what it is look it up) that ran a switchable fuel system. The propane system ran under the carb. If you were runing on fuel and change before the carb is empty It would stall. Once the swithcing device broke and it let a small amount of fuel mix in the propane. the dam thing barly ran. Long story short they are two extremly diffrent fuels. Unlike deasel fuel gas must burn at high temps. propane when mixed prevents its burn resulting in poor efficiency. Excuse my spelling but you get the Idea.
