A boost controller on an STi is a bad idea.....electronic or not......
This is a BAD idea....hope you know that the engine can be destroyed very quickly by using any 'boost controller'....the ECU can not fuel around increased boost very well and they go lean and *POP*...dead motor.

not really, the ECU has boost cut at 18 psi so no matter what you do it will not go over that amount. i have had my AVCR on my car since new (about 10 months) and have had no problems. the EBC will give you earlier boost and will extend it higher in the RPM band. you will have no problems. as far as wiring goes, here is an excellent link www.plxdevices.com

BTW , Uncle Scotty the ecu can handle the extra boost up to 18 psi , i have heard with a FCD it can handle up to 20 on a stock turbo. i am making over 300whp with the stock ECU and ALOT of mods including an upgraded turbo! remember that the stock ECU runs our cars at 9.5 AFR stock so that allows alot of increased airflow before you get into the danger area (12.2:1 AFR). if you run an aftermarket ECu on a stock system fuel is pulled out to make more power. our injectors flow enough to make 400+ FWHP. here are my mods:
SSA header
ported ,clipped, clearanced vf39 with larger compressor wheel
DP
3"catback with no cats
AVCR
Spearco TMIC
worx BOV
i only run 1-1.1 bar
typhoon intake
255 pump
my AFR's are 11.6:1 which is perfectly safe under any conditions
