perrin?cobb?spt intake?
I am having a hard time deciding on which intake to go with...I know I will not get much gain out of the intake, but I want to get the sound. Plus I am planning a protune after the intake. Right now all I have is a TBE system and don't want to tune it yet until I get more add on mods. any suggestion would help

Perrin SRI is good. Especially if you like that intake sound. SPT is fine too, especially if you want to have the CARB LEGAL sticker on it. Don't know much about the Cobb, but I haven't heard to many people have them. Other than that I think the majority of people still have upgraded drop in filters, unless they have upgraded on their turbo set-up. Hope this helps!

Stay stock, if you want to hear the turbo and get the "intake sound" then remove the silencer in the passenger fender well with a silencer delete (PM me on where to get it), plus it helps with response. You can add a drop in filter as well or even go as far as the Perrin AFTA-MAF. You can almost get the same amount of gain with the OEM air box without the problems of aftermarket intakes and for less money.

i went w/ an after market (k&n) air filter in the stock air box and the power transfer feels much smoother when the turbo kicks in. The power generated from the turbo is less explosive but no less bad ***. plus it was $50 for the filter instead of $200 for the SPT sri.
i have minimal tech experience but would be interested in trying to remove the silencer delete. does any one have a link to a 'silencer removal for dummies' thread?
