I need to get to get Air/Fuel ratio guage, EGT, and boost. I don't know to much about guages. Can you install the EGT guage on a STI without and aftermarket uppipe? How do you install the Air/Fuel guage? The last question is, I already have a Blitz DC turbo timer which has a boost guage in HKPA but I want to install a boost guage in PSI. Can I have both boost guages at the same time? I would appreciate any advice I could get. Thanks

since A/F and EGT achieves the same purpose.
people usually get oil pressure instead of A/F
on the STi, u would need to drill a hole on the up-pipe or u can get an aftermarket downpipe that has a bung hole on it, godspeed makes a good downpipe

oil pressure u would want to get a oil sandwich adapter from godspeed or gruppe-s.com

yes , boost gauge can runs with the turbo timer boost gauge, but u better have good hoses or else the boost signal would be weaker if u Tee-ed off too much.

 

Air fuel ratio gauges are absolutely worthless for tuning unless you purchase a wideband O2 sensor. The stock O2 sensor that comes in pretty much any car from the factory is a narrowband unit that has pretty much three readings, RICH, STOICH, LEAN. Thats it. It cant tell you how rich, how lean, or how close to a stoich ratio you are. Therefore as a tuning piece they are entirely useless. With a wideband you get a precise numeric number that you can use to tune.

 

Get boost, oil pressure and EGT.

Boost is easy, it just tap into the skinny hose going into the BOV.

Oil pressure is a little harder. You need a gallery plug adaptor from your suby dealer. If you look on scoobymod.com you can find directions for the install.

EGT is the hardest one. Most people tap the exhaust manifold on the driver's side where the casting dot is. You can easily remove the portion of the exhaust manifold on the driver's side and reuse the gasket. If you select the passenger side you will have to deal with the up-pipe. This may end up being a up-pipe leak. Once you have the driver's side of the manifold off you will see the casting dot that I'm talking about. Drill your hole there for the tap. Use a drill press or you will get a bad hole and it may not tap properly.

Oil pressure isn't THAT bad, as long as you have the right tools. I chose the plug location underneath the intercooler - no sandwich adaptor, but you have to get the metric-to-NPT adaptor.

 

what would 1.20 hkpa be in psi?

i know...i was doing a search about my boost controller and just wanted to make sure that im using it the right way...

 

1.2 kpa=.174 PSI, so I'm guessing 1.2 hkpa=17.4 PSI.

I'm also guessing 1hkpa=1bar.
