Is it really that small of a diameter that it will be detrimental to exhaust flow? Proboly not, 3inch piping is only restrictive at something like 600WHP..... so yeah. no.

power gains can been seen anywhere from 200-10000000hp with larger diameter exhaust components, though it may be catless, the lengthy exhaust plumbing on the Subarus you want as much flow as possible. We have tested cars first hand before and after a 2.5" vs. a 3" parts such as down pipes or catbacks, to say a little bit larger diameter would be saying that ported or tubular manufolds in other car types a re useless. that i can say from inshop testing is a false statement.

Ya, but we were referring to the uppipe which is only like 20" long. Going from 2" to 2.1/8" isn't going to amount to a whole hill of beans - especially given the turbo inlet and exhaust manifold sizes.

No full turbo back? just wondering if you are experiencing boost creep with downpipe and stock exhaust. Maybe not free flowing enough to allow that but just wondering.

I have read that the stock up-pipes are not flow through pipes. There is somthing in them, like a silencer or somthing. Also the flex that Subaru uses isnt the mesh stuff, it makes the metal look kinda like a slinky. Whereas you can get a better flowing up pipe. If you wanna keep the gasses hot, jet coat the inside and out of the pipe. It isnt too expensive. With all this good there is some bad. Paying more cash for a millisecong quiker boost, very few hp gain, and installation. But if your pullin the turbo off anyway to get it ported why not but a used up-pipe for $100 or less and get the extra power while the oppertunity for easier installation is there. FYI: I plan on doing it to my car (jet coated).
