In "lock", which is essentially 50/50 locked power distribution, you will get diff noises when turning at low speeds. From personal experience i get it even in one setting above full rear, so i don't really mess with it, i just set it to full open, which is the rear most setting at 35/65, and go to town with it. You will notice a considerable difference between this mode and auto, as i haven't driven in auto for the past 9 months, and driving in auto again really threw me off.

And yes, the more green it is the more power it is to the rear, the c.diff roller is just basically roll it back, more power to the rear, roll it forward, more power to the front. I don't know about all the intermediate settings, but 50/50 lock is not a mode to be used on the pavement/street, it was meant to be an off road/dirt/snow mode.

Get a catback or full exhaust then ecu upgrade flash or a management tool as starters for power

Well i do admit the STI with free exhausts tend to spool the turbo quite dangerously. If you do get an exhaust i will cuation you by say the dreaded words "boost creep"

What is boost creep:
Its when the exhaust keeps spooling the turbo up even when the wastegate is open.

Solution p&p the turbo by a professional shop.

BOV ARE a waste of money unless your running most boost than it can handle say about 19psi. Which i can assure you... your not. Also it tends to decrease performance rather than increase it. If you must get the bov becuase of the cool sound just make sure its not fully atmospheric. the ecu expects a recurculating bov.

Also on the same note dont bother with intakes. Just get a drop in panel filter like green filter.

ECU: the 04 ecu should work for you just fine.

is the RFL totally atmospheric? am I losing performance with it on a stock 04 sti?
