If I wanted to make 300whp...
conservatively speaking, what woudl i have to do.
Could I make 300whp on a 16g, or would a 18g/20g be neccesary for these numbers?
what numbers could i put down with a 16g?
if it is possible with a 16g, but a specific kind, which kind, or shoudl i be lookign at vf34.
would i need bigger/different injectors. fuel pump, tmic, exhaust?
would my tranny suffer after all is said and done, or should it be ok?
car details
2006 wrx wagon
32,xxx
spt intake, heatshield, exhaust
excedy stage 1 clutch
excedy lightweight flywheel
thanks in advance,
anyone running a 16g or 18g your input is wanted and welcome, but please let me know yoru supporting mods with he numbers you are putting out

if ur gonna use a big evo III 16g ported and polished u can get pretty damn close to 300 but ur gonna need suppoting mods.
650 injectors (maybe 750 so u can always go bigger)
fuel pump
bigger tmic
and may need 100oct
and also depends who tunes it i no GST has a low reading dyno
im goin with an 18g to be sure i get there without maxing out the 16g with supporting mods
18g
header
fp
turbo inlet
maf hose
sti tmic
turbo back
100oct
and tune

you got a 2.5 go with the 20g and have a east 320whp on 91.... whp play games on a small 16g when a 20g is not much more and you get a lot more power out of the turbo..

all you need is NAWWWWWWSSSSSS
seriously though with your 2.5, if you want a solid 300 on a conservative tune and pump gas, I would recommend a stage 1 motor setup cause the 2.5 internals suck. You should easily get there conservatively with:
STI TMIC+
20G+
650CC+ injectors
walbro FP
most importantly a tune to match your application.

On a vf39 and supporting mods tuned conservatively and at 18.5psi I was 262 and 280 on a reallllly hot day. I'm back in the shop now to do some internals I didnt feel right about skipping during the swap and also changing to a vf43. When completed my block will be an EQ stage 1 block plus everythiing i already had. I expect to see my numbers get closer to the 300 mark myself but I'm not in it for the HP. I'm in it for how well it drives and longevity of the motor.

I had a buddy making close to I think 285 at the wheels on the 06 WRX motor with a VF34, ewg, and headers.
I'm not sure what you could do to gain an extra 10-15 at the wheels.

Not on GST's mustang you didn't, maybe on EQ's laptop, but not on the heartbreaker.
