How is EJ255 similar to Sti 257?

How is EJ255 similar to Sti 257?

Is EJ255 a semi closed deck like the Sti? or are they the same engine just detuned?

IIRC, EJ255 is NA motor, so it is fully open deck with weak internals and high compression.

the ej255 is in the new legacy turbo and the forester xt which produce 250hp.
