HKS BOV. give you top end pull?

I noticed some advantages when I installed my HKS BOV.
I notice a top end pull on my STI.

I wonder if anyone noticed this too on STI with HKS BOV installed and exhaust?

It seemed to me too that my car felt a little faster, or just as fast once I installed my hks ssq. Plus it sounds awesome.

BOVs do absolutely nothing for performance what so ever, what you felt was probably a difference in conditions that benifited your car more than his

I felt something. I don't believed that I didn't do anything to my car. I took mine on and off quite a few times, and I felt the difference.

BOV doesn't add power. The factory compressor bypass valve performs the same function but without any undue mis-readings of the MAF sensor if the aftermarket BOV isn't adjusted or calibrated correctly.

If this sounds hard to believe, you can always go to the drags and swap out the BOV between drag strip passes, or take your car to an AWD dyno for some readings.

By the way, please omit any street racing or speed contests done on public roads on this message board. Thanks for your consideration.

Bov

I have heard that the BOV will actually lean out your STi and could possibly harm the car...anyone else hear of this?

I know all about the whole BOV on subarus, I'm just saying that I just felt that I have better topend when I have my BOV on.
.
And for the 3rd comment,, (I'm sorry but..are you serious) I see almost everyday people talking about racing and even videos of subaru racing on the streets in this forum) I just ran my car with my freind to see how my car and his car matches. FYI . . I don't go to any street racing meet if that's what you think.

We (Team regiment Zero) just like testing our car on the open road.
Something to share with all you peeps. we made it to Japan. We ask Nagata if he can brake his 328Km/h record in the US .. lol

I'm not sure on the hks bov but , I've found the stock bov works better . I had a blitz on my sti and it threw alot of lean codes . On the track it didn't run well bogging between shifts . The stock seems to give the car a little crisper response and also doesn't affect maf sensor , but blitz bov sure sounds good whoosh !

I read the stock bypass valve can leak boost if you have higher than stock boost..... could be the reason for the different feeling... or maybe the sound just makes you feel fast & furious haha

Bov

I had a blitz dd on mine for about 5 months and i got nothing but problems. Maybe the hks is better but i put stock back on and my shifts got smoother and idle wasnt as rough. In between shifts it gets very rough with a bov. The only thing a bov does is sound and makes momentarily rich shifts. Unless you have a bigger turbo at about 18 psi then you have a need for one.

they should make one that sounds like a fart! lol Anyways do you know if you have an issue with boost creep? Maybe the extra power is due to a little extra boost at higher rpm?
