HKS Blowoff

To start off, I have an 06 STI. So guys, I went out and bought a brand new HKS SSQ. Its supposed to fit all 2002-2005 WRX's and STI's. I also talked to Subaru themselves and they said that there is no difference motor wise between an 06 and a 04-05 STI. Well, almost done with the install and trying to bolt it on to the intercooler, and it doesn't fit. Thoses little gold bars, not sure what they are, are in the way. Anyone help me trouble shoot? They won't take the SSQ back, Looks like I'm stuck.

post some pics...

that will help everyone help you...

I have an 04 STI...no problem with fit...the outflow of the bov is facing the passenger side horizontally...

What was a tight fit was the 100% recirc. mod that I just did for my HKS...had to get a 1" inside diameter hose that was shaped like a question mark...found one amazingly enough...

i just took off my ssq like an hour ago on an 05 WRX and put on my stock one, kinda miss the hitch pitch whistle already...but it fit mine perfectly on mine maybe because it was slightly tilted to one side it clearing the fuel rails by like a couple of cm. i dont know about the 06's but the ssq put 2 dents on the inside of my hood plus it makes you run rich, personally id say stay with the stock one until you push over 18 psi just my .02

Being new to turbo cars, I didn't know that you could turn the bov inside the flange. So now that I angled it correctly, it clears the fuel rails. I havn't noticed that it puts any dents in my hood though. Even if it does make you run rich, I think its worth it, I love that sound .

yea the HKS SSQV is known to put something like skratches or dents underneath your hood. i notice it trying to find a used one. all of the one that i looked at has skratches on it. but then again, you dont really need one unless your going for the sound(one expensive sound to get).

Yeah i have a few dents from the ssq with my stock top mount. I got it from irvine subaru and they said it would fit fine and then left a bunch of dents in it. I took it back and they said they cant do anything about it. Its under the hood so oh well.

From: Are you too one of the few still living the past? Well I can change that! With a simple wicket. Yes, my friend, a wicket. PM for details.
Car Info: No car right now....sob.
It won't dent the 06 hoods, which are slightly raised in the portion that goes over the IC and consequently, the BOV mounting spot. Had an HKS until I realized the guy who sold it to me sold a broken one....if anyone knows truWRXtacy tell him I want my goddamn money back.

those gold bars you are mentioning are fuel lines, 06 have slightly different fuel lines that might be getting in your way.
