Invidia vs PDE

I've listened to a HKS Carbon TI with Invidia and PDE...due to the larger bellmouth design, the Invidia seemed a bit louder and deeper than the PDE setup...never really had a CEL problem with the PDE...The Helix is very similar if not the same as the Invidia...just not polished up...The Invidia V3 looks very good though with the divorced tube...

The Invidia goes from a huge Bellmouth to 3" taper...the PDE has a smaller bellmouth that tapers to a 2.5" outlet (you can use the stock donut on the flange or it mates up to most 3" cat-backs without problems) ...

Go to the next meet...JuniorSTI has the Invidia/HKS setup...I use to have a PDE/HKS setup...but you can really hear the differences in exhaust notes there...make sure you take a ride because the exhaust note always changes under a load...sounds much better under load...

My vote... PDE

I have DC Sport Header to PDE Up Pipe to PDE Down Pipe to DC Sport Cat back exhaust. I love the sound of the car - most of the deep tone comes from the DC Sport cat back. UP and down pipe were installed at the same time - not sure how much it changed the exhaust note but I did learn one trick -

The up pipe has a port for a EGT sensor. Its a bit of a dangerous place because EGT sensors have a tendancy to break up (not often but can happen). If it does, it is going immediatly into the turbo. A better local I have heard it to tap into an aftermarket header - where the pipes come together. Ya, I know it is still before the turbo but has a tougher time getting there fighting gravity. I personally plugged the port because it was so close to the turbo. I havn't had a single problem with it.

i have owned the PDE and now I have a TXS. PDE has a really good quality finish never threw a cel due to its design but that never really matters if you are deciding on going with em with cel defeats. I personally swithed over to a txs dp for my sti due to the larger bellmouth design (4 inches) never had any problems with it according to my butt dyno car seems to pull alot harder with this design. but then again i went from a wrx with pde dp to a sti with txs dp.....either way i am satisfied with both products and as i can see from another post you have already made your decision on what you were going to get. good luck i know you will be happy with it

Hey Jess,
What did you do with the EGT port on the up pipe?

Radio Shack? I can't say I'm not impressed - I would like to hear more about it... but why? Once you have a catless car/aftermarket pipes and intake you getting very close (if not past the line) of needing a reflash or some type of aftermarket EMU tuning. Even a reflash with a decent tuner will fix your cel lights, not by eliminating them but fixing the problem. Anyway, be carful - you don't want to be running lean and not know it.
