so I installed a equal length header on my car and now it seems to have tremdous lag and the RPM take a long time to rev in 1-3 gear. I checked for any leaks and couldnt didnt find any. I was thinking i might have a boost leak but the stock boost gauge goes up like normal. what do you guys think it could be? maybe it needs a retune?


BTW my mods are:

tomei 740cc injectors
walbro fuel pump
helix DP
straight pipe custom exhaust

the last tune I had was at GST with just the injectors and fuel pump.

the car basically feels like it has a slipping clutch until you get to 4th gear but I'm certain it is not the clutch. boost stays at ~14psi until 4th then it finally hits 19psi like it used to. feels extremely slooow even while in boost.

 

Retune it.

Stop putting money in your STi and concentrate on your Carina

 

If you have a leak from the header you would hear it.

What brand headers are they anyway?

If you have time to bring the car by I would be happy to take a look at it for you, I will be at the shop tomorrow from 7am till 3pm then returning again at 9pm and probably still here till late so come on by.

cool thanks mike Ill drop by tomorrow. there was a leak coming from where the header meets with the block but it was just a loose bolt. I believe the brand is JIC I bought it off a fellow member and he didnt know what brand they are.
