keep in mind that the cobb setup may be "finicky" with certain aftermarket parts you may/may not have on the car(or plan on getting) i would suggest spending a lil more money and look into ecutek.

Cobb AP.
ECUtek.
As it stands, AP allows map switching & custom tuning.
ECUtek doen't....yet.
Once/if ECUtek developes/releases their version of the AP, it'll be 6 one, half dozen the other.
With supporting mods, AP took my 227whp/230tq to 265whp/271tq.
With no problems, issues or concerns.
That's before my custom tune, which will provide another (estimated) 20-30 whp.
Again, with a good safety margin.

Just when i think i made up my mind...now more confusion than ever... I guess i liked the Cobb AP because they are exclusive to Subie's and should know how best to deal with them...more homework to be done...if no other mods would the AP still have problems?????

why would you say this? just wondering.
i need to research this before i jump into something

edit: i guess what i am really asking are the base maps ok to start with.
i dont plan on donig exhaust, dp, etc anytime soon.
Cobb Ap's were good, but now with many dyno shops having the ability to use the "Cobb Pro Tuner," you can get a custom tuned map for your car, plus the ability to switch to stock or valet mode if needed and clear fault codes. also, this can be done for the price of the access port plus $180 or so in tuning which makes it about the same price as an ECUTEK. It Seems like now, the AP is a little better than just an ecutek reflash.
