Cobb short ram?
Ok I ordered a Perrin short ram but i now see that the Cobb intake is compatable with the Accessport. I want that setup. Should I take back the Perrin and get the Cobb? Is the air intake worth the $'s?

pacer07,
As for Cobb, they don't have a map for intakes only, so you'll need a protune (custome tune) to make the most of the AP.
If it's the only thing you do, try the Stage 1 map for stock cars until you get a custome tune.

I had the Cobb Short ram:

I'm stage 2 and I didn't notice any difference other than a lot more noise. I ended up taking it off and selling it. As far as short rams go it's a nice part, but like he said unitl you really start making HP you don't need one. If you are just going for more sound and want to hear the BOV just remove the snorkus in the fender (silencer) that will let you hear the recirc valve and a little of the turbo spool sound. It's also free but not as loud as the short ram.

Not true! Be careful who you listen to around here concerning your first mods. TOO many noobs MOST intakes will cause boost surges as the ecu tries to re-calibrate for the added air. Unless tuned for, these spikes CAN and HAVE damaged many engines in the past. The K&N, Cobb and SPT are the ONLY intakes which account for this.
Even then, you won't notice much power, just noise. It's really a matter of personal taste for the most part, unless you have mods that require one ie: Big turbo or a fmic. Like I said, careful who you ask
Good luck with the ride and future mods.

Ok so what turbo back do you recommend? Ive been pricing the average one at $1000. After that I can run accessport 2? Im looking to be a little quiet on the exhaust note by the way.
