best parts for 06 sti??? help needed
Hey guys. I'm about to purchase an 06 STI and I'm wondering the best parts to put on it for money and power...I'm not trying to get 500 hp or anything, just into the mid to high 300's to the wheels. I'm thinking full exhaust, up-pipe, down-pipe, intake, front mount, and a good tune...Can I get your opinions on the best parts in these categories and ALSO what other parts are needed or recommended? Thanks...

From what I've read, a turbo-back exhaust + an Access Port + protune should put you in the neighborhood of 300 awhp. I'm no expert, but hopefully someone will be able to answer your questions. Check out "stage 2 club" thread and see what people are putting down.
Also, I think the up-pipe is unnecessary on STIs as there is no cat on that pipe.
Again, this is from what I've read and I don't guarantee the information. Do a search about the up-pipe to confirm.

With simply a turbo back exhaust and a good tune, 300whp is very obtainable. Our project sti pulls 320whp with this on a dynomite dyno (similar to a dynojet in power ratings).
And intake can gain you a little more, although picking a good one is important. The upipe is debatable. An sti uppipe is already catless, so its not bad. However, I was talking to perrin, and they swear up and down that their uppipe has been proven to pull another bit of power as it shows on a dyno chart on their site. A header is another controversial item that both perrin and full-race swear makes for a bundle more mid range power. The front mount is certainly not necessary. The stock one is fine for that power. An upgraded top mount or front mount will gain you a bit more power, but certainly more consistency in power especially if you track your car.
As for tunes, you can use an AP, but if you have a good tuner near you or are willing to wait for a tuner to do a trip near you, a custom dyno tune will give you the best results.
With all these items, mid to higher 300s is not a problem. However keep in mind different types of dynos will give you different kinds of numbers. A mustang dyno for example will read lower.
