but apparently it works on evo's and aren't they exactly the same as wrx/sti's?Keep the stock airbox.....end of story

It's good only if you need it in terms of power. 
If you do, then in terms of aftermarket airboxes, it's pretty damn good. Just make sure you have some form of engine management.
