Alright, it is time, it is time for me to get exhaust for my car, turbo back to be exact.

So, my question is, what is good for sub 1000?

I have done some research and iam leaning towards BPM GT tbe ~800

and the most expensive on my list, APS, found the cheapest for ~1000, most go for 1200~

with the help of experienced baic people, i'd like to know whats good out there?
what iam looking for is least amount of bend right before the muffler, like the invidia n1 or aps, unlike cobb or bpm, no huge exhaust tip, loud but not too loud, and of course, good deep sound.

i'd like to spend close to 1000 for the whole set up, and yeah, i'll be installing with my friend. any tips other than pb blaster/wd-40?

What type of downpipe do you want?

 

I think your best bet would to not buy the turboback as a whole. Good a good downpipe and match that with a good catback, because sometimes they are not both made by the same company based on the things you listed above.

^^ I agree with norcaldc5 ^^ plus, don't buy new. There are plenty of people who buy an exhaust, and then think it's too loud or too quiet after <5000 miles!

I am encouraging you to look at a divorced style downpipe, only because I have a bellmouth style and am running into boost creep issues....

You may not have this problem..but it can't hurt to start with that as a bit of insurance. (Maddad is a good one).

my suggestion is to get a catted DP and a fairly quiet stock looking exhaust. that way you won't have to worry about cops. you won't see any noticeable difference between a divorced wastegate dp or a bellmouth. buying used is also a great option to save.

 

really thinking bout doin a "cut out" w/ the stock exhaust, control switch to open and close. and weld a simple dual tip like the borla hush tip..

 

^^ I did that for a while, but then it started to leak and sounded like crap ^^

it says "Other noises (car alarm, GMC Jimmy, stock STI, etc) give a decent idea of exactly how loud this exhaust is. It's definitely a fair bit quieter than the loud ones out there like the HKS, Perrin, etc but is louder than the extra quiet ones like Borla Hush, etc." but still, seems loud as hell to me, maybe its just the video.
