is it alright to put on my aps CAI with just cobb stage 1?

i have a 06 wrx with a cobb cat-back and AP stage 1 and i just picked up a 65mm APS CAI the other day and want to know if its safe to put on now or should i wait till i put the cobb DP on and bump it up to stage 2?

You shouldn't put it on now or when you go stage 2. Read the map notes for the cobb stage 1 and stage 2. They specifically say to use only the stock airbox. The CAI will mess with your mass air flow sensor, which will mess with your air/fuel ratio. Search over at NASIOC. There are a lot of threads on this topic.

You can use Cobbs SF intake on their over the shelf maps. It is the only one that is PERFECTLY compatable with Accessport as it is with no tuning required and doesn't harm your MAF reading in any way, a lot of R&D was invested in the development of the intake to make it that way. The SPT intake will perform in the same way and has a CARB # and won't void your warranty. I don't know how compatable the SPT intake is with the AP with out a protune.

Please read Cobbs map notes regarding intakes. Please also search for CAI's with the boxer engines.
