Advice on FP Green
I just placed an order on the FP Green on my 05 STi. =)
I'm buying things one at a time and aiming for high 12's on 1/4 mile. I've been debating myself on which to get for my car, and I decided on this.
I tried searching and I can't find any specific answer to my questions:
1. What are the things I need to support the Green?
2. Is the tranny strong enough to support the power?
I don't know how much power to expect, but I heard good things out from Green turbo. Man.. I'm excited!

I just ordered the green about a week ago....should be getting it on tuesday or wednesday. As for your questions:
1. Bare Minimum: Fuel Injectors, fuel pump, and some sort of engine management.
2. What kind of power are you looking for?

Heck, send it back. You can get LOW 12s on the stock turbo with turboback and good tuning. But, if you keep the Green, you need injectors, a fuel pump, and more tuning. that's it.
EROCK...
From my search earlier, I saw some people getting 400+ whp? Man.. that's a lot, and I'm not sure whether if it's just the turbo or with supporting mods. My goal is nowhere close to having that... it's an over kill for my style.
BAN SUV...
I wouldn't return the Green, but I know what you're saying. I bought the turbo, so I can get a little more top end power. I hope I'm heading the right direction... if you have further advice to me, please do. I need good education from good enthusiasts.
I've been beaten by my brother who has an SRT-4 with Mopar Stage 2, and that thing leaves me behind after hitting 120 mph or less even.
How big of a fuel injector I need?
Walbro FP is all I hear from here... is this what I should get?
Is AccessPort good for the setup?

The thing to remember about the SRT4 is that it's lighter, 2wd, and currently makes more power than your car. But take him to a racetrack and you'll run rings around him.
With the green I would look into getting to Perrin 800cc/min injectors, or an equivalent size. A little too big is better than a little too small.
A walbro fuel pump is an excellent upgrade over stock. I wouldn't recommend an AccessPort unless you live close enough to Cobb to get dyno tuned. The AP depends on you using certain combinations of mods to work, and Cobb currently only supports a handful of turbos. I would find a local tuner (local is relatively so) and discuss your options with them. Chances are, you'll have an EcuTek reflash recommended to you, with Xede and Utec strong possibilities. I personally would recommend a reflash as things currently stand.

Great... thanks for the big help BAN SUV, and thanks to EROCK as well!
I'm actually close to Cobb dealership and an hour away from Vishnu, 35 minutes away from Gruppe-S... hehe, lots of options eh? I will be booking into getting in touch with them.

Me&STi...Yeah I agree with you on the 400+ HP, my sti is my daily driver and having that much power wouldn't be ideal for me. But just like yourself, I'm also looking for something that would give me a little more top end. Right now I'm running a helix downpipe, carbon ti exhaust, forge bov, aps intake, walbro fp, a ported wastegate, and an ecutech reflash (tuned by mike over at gruppe-s). Once I get the fpgreen, I'll be adding perrin 850cc injectors and the gruppe-s exhaust manifold. I'll keep you posted once I get it the parts installed and and get the car retuned.

That fastest i have EVER seen on a vf39 STI was a guy runnin C16 fuel/headers/exhuast/intake/SSR comp wheels with r compound tires,...he pulled a 12.30@112MPH.
The greens a great turbo, the only limiting factor will be the fact that CA gas isn't good for making high hp....most guys hit 265-270 WHP with a TBE/Flash, then go up another 30-35 WHP with the green, on 91.
But the power difference from 6-7K is where the green kicks the VF39s butt...and on race gas.

Have fun

I'm completely stock right now, and won't be installing parts until I bought everything. The gas mpg on stock is a little too poor no matter how light footed I drive on a regular cruise.
How's your gas doing with those mods?

The trick to gas milage with the STi (and WRX) is staying in closed loop and off boost. Pretty much regardless of your mods, although most tuners can help you get slightly better milage by increasing your torque when you are off boost. Of course, staying off boost with an STi is easier said than done.

Yea, it's like a disease that you just can't get cured of. What you said makes sense, I was curious how of MPG will respond to mods. Thanks!
set up i have
hydra stand alone cpu
fp green but external wastegate you will make 40 hp more at wheels
tial 38mm wastgate
perrin injectors
perrin fmic
gt spec head and uppipe
godspeed downpipe
espelir cat back
perrin crank pully
blitz boost controller
im sure on race gas will be in the 450 whp range. to make your car run at its best you will need the above. i went with hydra because they used my car for testing and got a killer deal.

What's your car making right now on pump gas? as I see your expectations are 450whp on race gas.
Mike
CARGUYX ON nasoc club. made 58 whp and 59 torque going from internal to external also made 415 on pump gas
