Exclamation 2007 Sti's and WRX Less HP

the wrx have 6hp less then the 06 and 7hp less then the 06 sti!! what happen? or was it just they measured it different?? the torque decreased by 10 on the sti!!

it has NOT decreased, they automotive industry all together are using a more accurate way of measuring HP and torque.

No car manufacturer on earth is going to reveal the WHP of a production car; they want the crank HP because it is the bigger number of the two. They will also rarely, if ever, tell the RPM that peak horsepower occurs -- no one wants to know that their Scion TC is only going to reach 140hp a mere 500rpm before it hits redline, giving it an incredibly narrow powerband...

Um... they do. Most STIs dyno at 235 to 240whp at my local tuner's shop, even with 06 models with less than 1k on the engine.

The car industry is using a new SAE? hp rating. They actually started it midway through this year.

I thought the new STI's were running a different factory map that was more conservative. People are complaining about them being a bit of a slouch under 3 grand.
