2006 STI reving problem

When I lift off the thottle and push in the clutch, the revs climb for a bit before dropping back down. It seems to happen in every gear. Kind of scary when you shift at 6k as the revs go to 7k by themselves before you let out the clutch again. The car has done this since day one and has about 2k on it. This behavior might actually make the car easier to drive smoothly, but is this normal?

Yes, it's because of a slight delay due to the electronic throttle. Although I'm not claiming all electronic throttle-equiped cars do this. But do they???

That occurs on my WRX. I would shift and watch the needle slightly jump up, along with the engine sound. And yes it does make shifting smoother for me. I have read couple of threads about the same issue, so I think it might be a normal occurence.
