2.5 STi block w Forged Pistons

Thought these were neat pictures that I took so I thought I would post them.

Just curious what the strange dish pattern was for, could you explain?? Or is it just the picture, it seems like there is a groove pattern, or is that just the route the CNC made and it just looks raised.

Yeah, there is deffinately some sort of raised pattern or something.

What's the compression ratio on those? In fact, here's a good one for you guys- what's compression ration with those and every head combination you can think of with it?

Don't forget Leg turbo heads and sohc EJ25 heads...

Well, if I'm not mistaken they designed that for poor-boys like me who want an STi block but still want to use their stock WRX heads, and I think they were trying for something around 8.2 with the WRX heads. I'm sure you (Bans) knows what else that corresponds to with other heads out there.

Irregardless, I'd still like to know lol

Yes, Joel is correct. When I did the pistons, I only had them designed to be used with dohc wrx or vers6 and later sti heads.
As you might know, I am a firm believer in higher rpm, and the sohc heads are not too happy with higher rpms. It can be made to work, but it's going to cost you.

That's not saying they won't work with the sohc heads though. I have a couple sets laying around(2.2t and 2.5 rs heads) and when I get a chance will measure them up to check compatability.
