05 STI, cai or short ram?

hello yall i love in houston and it gets hellla hot over here, i posted about what type of intake, i had my mind set on k&n typhoon short ram but a buddy on clubwrx told me this.

that looks to have a heat shield but even then its possible.

do a SEARCH on the K&N and read up on it. but most CAIs work fine on the STI and youll be getting a tune anyways so youll be fine.
my mods are:
Engine Mods:
Hks Ti-Carbon Catback
Godspeed Downpipe
Ported waste gate
UTEC Stage2
Walbro 255lph Fuel pump
HKS SSQV BOV
1 Step colder spark plugs

thank you please help me make a good concios decision.

what drop in do you have? if you dont have kn drop-in, i would get one. thats all your going to need. any other mod for the intake is just for looks.BTW,shiv at vishnu does all my tuning. he told me to stay with stock intake, but i researched the kn cai and short ram (typhoon). they both showed that i would get some gains. so i went out a bought the typhoon. should of listen to shiv.

stock intake seems to be the way to go if your still stock turbo.

no need for name calling my friend. Honestly your at the point where the next step would be a new turbo plus supporting mods. If your going to run a fmic, most of them will require a new intake. Hope to hear in the future about a new turbo going in there....

if you want something new, does it really have to be a power mod? I really would steer away from an intake until one is needed...
