From 03 M3 to 05 Sti
Hi I am new to the forum I am the happy owner of a 05 sti, the car has only 200 miles and I could not wait so I put turbo xs bov, GP Moto Turbo Back, Gp moto header(the one that replaces the Upipe) and k&n short ram intake). The question is am I runing save? the owner of the shop told me that I should wait to at lest 1,000 miles before I put ecu.
Anyway thanks for the help I dont know much about this awsome cars.

well its probabally the best idea to leave the car stock until you reach the proper break in period (around 1,000 or so miles) and even then some people dont recommend modding your car until your completely comfortable with the stock feel and have a substantial amount of miles on it (like 5 -10 k). Im not sure what u mean by "am i runing save?" but maybe that will answer the question.

Car Info: a prius, a miata, & 2 m3's
I drove my car like it was stolen since 6.5mi on the odo. runs like a champ. I did this intentionally b/c I adhere to the seat the rings WOT off the lot philosophy on breakin. mods don't change anything internally with the engine so I don't see how it would alter your breakin at all. just let the car warmup and dont keep your rpms at the same level... and put some load on the motor....
05 STI with 12000mi on it now.
I also have an 04 M3 and I had an 01 M3. great cars.

I gave my WRX and STi 1,000 for break in. No problems with either one, I put 51K miles on the WRX before trading it in for my STi that now has 1800 miles.
I would have waited on mods. Your ECU is tuned to run efficiently with stock parts. My guess is your car expecting different back pressure than what you are running, usually an air intake throws off you a/f (although most agree the k&n work well) and the blow off valve is causing you to run rich on shifts. I would imagine the ECU managing your car is a bit off with these mods, if you feel uncomfortable take them off, if you think its ok then leave them on but I would suggest an ECU upgrade now, it'll only help your car run better and more efficiently.
