Did it the same time as my Radiator.. I would guess 30 minutes. Its under the cast elbow on the lower radiator hose that is bolted to the block. Two 10 mm bolts. The housing pops off, Coolant spills, Pop the new T stat in and put the housing back. Fill with coolant again. No need to take the hose off the elbow.

Hard to say... I did the hoses, Tstat, and PWR radiator and STI 1.3 bar cap at once. Used to get a 20 degree rise in temps on 1/4 mile passes. No get 7-8 degree rise. Car idles at 81-83C now. Any rise is imediatly dropped back to that level.
