What MagnaFlow muffler should I buy?
Hello! I was wondering what is the overall opinion of MagnaFlow mufflers and which one you are running? I have searched around and there seems to be a few people that have the MagnaFlow mufflers but they don't say which one they have. I am going to have an Exhaust shop weld me a Cat Back but I am not sure which magnaflow muffler I should go with so your imput would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It depends on a couple factors, but mostly on the diameter of your exhaust tubing. 3" is ideal for the WRX, so I would have an entire catback fabbed up with the Magnaflow using 3" mandrel bent stainless tubing, cut and welded to fit. As for the specific muffler, it depends on what you want. They are all straight through and sound more or less the same. My car is going to use a 5x8 oval SS muffler, 3" in and dual 2.5" out to keep the stock look. I currently have a 2.25" single tip 5"x8" oval muffler on my RS and I really like the sound.
I would avoid the Ti series. Looks and sounds like every other melon shooter exhaust out there.

Prices vary depending on labor rates. $3-400 is plenty for a basic catback.
The shop doesn't have to be able to do mandrel bending in-house. They jsut have to order some straight 3" tube and some 3" U-bends. Any fabricator worth paying for his work can weld it all up to fit and look good. FWIW I paid a grand total of $260 for my catback, but the muffler I bought already had a flange and a tip on it. Only $100 was for labor to put it all together, and it only took the guys at S-Squared 2 hours to do it, including high-temp paint.
