Kakimoto is probably the nicest flowing out there....as would be the JIC Ti cat back as well...only "downside to both (aside from cost, which is justifiable considering they are both 100% Ti), is the sound. VERY LOUD, so not for the faint of heart by any means.
We are in process of doing a complete revamp of our webiste, and in our new exhaust section, will ahve a simple comparison chart with pictures of all angles of the exhaust/downpipes, headers, etc we carrry, design specs and weights, and downloadable sound clips.....should be online by end of Jan. (along with full e comemrce finally coming soon!)

I've been considering the Kakimoto GT1.0Z stainless, but I read in one of their ads that the GT1.0Z won't last as long/is not as durable as other exhaust systems because of its thin piping walls. Any issues with this yet? I dun wanna have to replace every so often
Also, anyone have any experience with the Kakimoto N1 Plus? It seems like a more "street-friendly" exhaust: more low end torque, maybe quieter? It's the same price as the GT1.0Z and I wanna know what the justification is for that. Thank you all!

kakimoto
the gt1oz is primarily a race pipe for the stock turbo the other kakimotos are more daily drivers i still think the issue is a suitable jdm dp either cat or catless the gt1oz with a high flow cat dp should bring sound levels down a bit going catless with the other kakimotos should give great performance/sound for everyday use

The GT1.0z is a very durable exhaust when it comes to corrosion, but just be careful not to scrape it on speedbumps and such, because the piping is super thin. Without any cats it is WAAY loud, and you'll go crazy on a long drive with it if you don't have a silencer.

What's the best WRX exhaust system?
I am really leaning towards getting the HKS carbon ti but which downpipe should I use and will it throw any chech engine lights cuz neither of them have cats? By the way, Blue, how did you get the muffler can tucked so far up under the car? Most of the other ones that I have seen have the muffler sticking down. Have you had any problems with ground clearance on speed bumps and such? Also, what about the BPM GT or the MRT exhaust systems how are they in comparison to the HKS with a downpipe? Thanks.

BPM downpipe/exhaust
I like the BPM system a lot... I've owned one for about one year, and it works very well. The downpipe might not work with other exhaust systems, but that way, it avoids having piping that tapers down in order to attach to the stock parts! I believe that anything is only as good as it's weakest link. I really don't see the purpose of 3" pipe anywhere on the system, when at some point it goes to some smaller size. This creates turbulence, and therefore restriction! Also, I'm very satisfied with their customer service.... About one month ago, I contacted them regarding the downpipe on my WRX rusting...The winter salt really took it's toll on it. They referred me directly with HPC here in the US. Well, just yesterday I received my downpipe back with fresh coating on it; All free of charge! They even offered to hook me up (or anybody else with the same problem) with a full stainless downpipe for $250!!! I'm working on that now; gotta prepare for next winter!
Happy driving!!!

When looking at exhaust systems pay attention to how the hangers are attached. My JIC Bullet SUS ( same style as the TI , but 16lbs not 11 , not to mention 5 bills less) has NO welded exhaust brackets , they are all straped to the mid pipe and to the can with stainless steel. This sounds like a silly detail but when you see posts of other systems and the welded brackets ripping off it no longer seems silly. Kakimoto , JIC and a few others are race bred exhausts and built for endurance.Notice how that HKS has a strap on the TI can But the others are welded!Greddy is all welded up and so are the many others Like Tanabes etc.
FYI the USDM versions of the JIC exhausts do have a resonator built in for slight noise supression. The mid pipe is one section , not two pieces bolted together , another fine point of any worthwhile N1 Endurance type system.
And remember There will never be any "bumble-bee in a coffee can sound from any exhaust you choose, the boxer rules the four cylinder kingdom in the sound department!

Yummy
That HKS is definitely my fave... cept i like the original Hi-Power in its chrome, the Carbon-Ti is a bit ricey for my taste... although i LOVE carbon fiber... (i guess its the flamed-blue tip that bugs me)
I'm just concerned about ground clearance when u mount it the way it was meant to be mounted... anyone have any ideas? experiences? I love the sound, and Some magazine with a shootout came out number 1
i dig it very much, plus u can get one for arund 600 bucks
ohhhh, anyone know if u can get a silencer for the HKS?? it does have holes! haha...
